Bath Voice News: police issue a statement after a ‘domestic incident’ led to a National Police Air Service helicopter being used to search the Odd Down area

By Harry Mottram: following reports last week of a serious incident in the Odd Down area of Bath in which some media reports included notes on ‘blood stains on a wall’ Bath Voice requested a statement from the police.

The Police made this statement: “Emergency services were called to a report of a domestic incident at an address in Banwell Road, Bath, just before 9pm on Wednesday 04 January.

“A man in his forties was arrested in the Moorlands area on suspicion of aggravated burglary and assault, after a search supported by the National Police Air Service helicopter. He has since been released on police bail.

“A woman went to hospital for treatment to head injuries including a cut and bruising.

“A juvenile arrested on suspicion of wounding a man was released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“No one suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

“Residents may see an increased police presence in the area while enquiries continue. If you have any information about what happened and have yet to speak to officers, please call 101 and give the reference 5224002438.”
