Bath City FC: The Romans travel to Salisbury in the FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round at The Raymond McEnhill Stadium on Saturday 28 September when they hope to keep the Wembley dream alive. Salisbury FC – formerly Salisbury City – are in mid table just above Bath so expect another tight game. The club on their family day last week lost out by 0-1 in a narrow defeat by Enfield at Twerton Park.
Football: Bath City Women FC: The Sulisian Romans were held to a goalless draw at Paulton Rovers last week and will look to take the laurels at Cirencester in the Regen Arable South West Regional Divison 1 North fixture on Sunday 29th September at The Corinium Stadium. Kick off is 2pm. The Sulisian Romans have four points from three games and will hope to climb up the table from their current position of sixth place.
Football: Larkhall Athletic: The Larks came away from Frome on Saturday, September 14th with a 0-1 victory in the FA Cup second qualifying round. Boreham Wood are their next opponents in the cup on Saturday 28th September. They are away to Yate for an evening match on the 24th while their next home game has been postponed due to a fixture clash. They play bishops Cleeve on 5th October at home.
Football: Odd Down: On Saturday, September 14th the local derby against Keynsham Town FC ended 1-1 but on the 17th the Down lost to a strong Hallen Side 0-4. Devizes away on the 24th with Bitton also away on the 24th September. Up the Down.
Rugby: Bath Rugby Union Club: The Blue, Black and Whites beat Northampton Saints at the Recreation Ground on Friday 20th September in this high tempo opener in the Gallagher Premiership by 38-16. When Ollie Lawrence went over for a try on the hour the tide finally turned in Bath’s favour as the Blue Black and Whites pressed home their advantage with a lead of 15-10 at the break. Bath ran away with it in the final minutes of the second half winning 38-16 as the Saints tired. For the club this is just what was needed for their first game of the premiership campaign and Bath will be looking to win the title this season after being runners up last time. Next up are Leicester Tigers away on Sunday 29th September in a must win fixture as the Tigers beat Exeter last week away by 14-17 and will be looking to halt Bath’s path to the title. If the team play like they did against Saints then the BB&W fans will be cheering all the way home.
Rugby: Combe Down RFC: The first 15 lost to Corsham on the 14th by 19-39 in a home game and narrowly lost to Walcot a week later away by 31-28. Training for new players is on Tuesday and Thursdays at 7pm. Come along – all welcome. Bramble Way, North Rd, Combe Down, Bath BA2 5DE
Rugby: Walcot RFC: The team play Sherborne away on 28th September. The club have an unusual history with several name changes but began life in 1882 and currently play at the Albert Field Lansdown, Bath.
