Bath Voice News: Theatre Royal Bath pantomime audiences raise over £9,840 for local charities

By Harry Mottram: Pantomime audiences at the Theatre Royal Bath have raised £9,840.75 over the festive season across twenty-eight charity collections, which took place from 19th December to 4th January, after matinee and evening performances of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs appeared at the Theatre Royal Bath from 12th December to 12th January – and if you missed it then tickets are now on sale for the next pantomime season The Further Adventures of Peter Pan which appears at the Theatre Royal Bath from 11th December 2025 to 11th January 2026.

The Theatre Royal’s annual Charities Week took place across eight days and sixteen panto performances between 19th to 28th December, raising a total of £5,252.66 which will be divided equally between four charities: Great Western Air Ambulance, Developing Health and Independence, ReMind UK and Swallow. In addition, collections took place from 29th December to 4th January, across twelve panto performances, raising a total of £4,588.09 for the Wonderfund.

Cast members Olivia Birchenough (Snow White), Jon Monie (Muddles), Nick Wilton (Dame Dilly Donut) and George Olney (Prince Frederick) were joined on stage by Charlotte Hutcheson and Haydn May from the Theatre Royal’s Front of House Team to celebrate the donations given by theatregoers.

* Great Western Air Ambulance provide emergency care to people who are in a state so critical that they require the specialist skills of their team at the scene of the accident or medical incident.

* Developing Health and Independence is a social inclusion charity that specialises in helping those experiencing multiple disadvantages as a result of poverty, deprivation, abuse or neglect.

* Swallow supports over 170 teenagers and adults with learning disabilities in and around Bath & North East Somerset, providing services and opportunities to enable people to live life to the full.

* ReMind UK is an independent charity based in Bath providing dementia research, diagnosis and support to people affected by dementia, including carers.

*   The Wonderfund gives state school children free access to live performances at The Egg, making Bath the city where all children can make live theatre an integral part of their academic year.
