By Harry Mottram: Bath Rugby came good in a second half fight back against Quins at the Rec overturning the half-time score of 14-28 running out 39-28 winners in the premiership Rugby Cup match. Tries from Tom de Glanville, Tom Carr-Smith, Tom Dunn, Arthur Green, Jaco Coetzee, and Louie Hennessey saw them home. They next face Newcastle with the details to be published after the other quarter final games on Saturday. Against Harlequins Claran Donoghue kicked three conversions and one penalty adding those vital extra points to secure victory.

Bath City FC: Bath remain in 18th spot in the Vanarama National League South some nine points off the drop zone after an away win at Salisbury by 1-2, a home 0-0 draw at home with Eastbourne but defeat against Worthing on March 4th by 2-1. Salisbury and Welling are in more danger with as St Albans who are in the relegation zone have two games in hand. Bath should be safe for another season in the league but with the likes of local rivals Chippenham and Weston-super-Mare higher up the table they would have hoped to be chasing promotion.

Bath City Women FC: The team had a thumping win over Stockwood on 16 February by 5-0 and repeated the score against St Vallier on Sunday – with goals from Clarke 2, Thorner-Atkinson 2, and J Harris. Corsham stood in their way on March 2nd but they battled for a 1-1 draw keeping then in fifth place in the Division 1 North. They are at home on Sunday 9th March when Olveston are the opposition.

Football: Larkhall Athletic AFC: the Larks enjoyed a 5-0 home win against Cinderford but defeats by Evesham away and Melksham won’t help their nerves as they enter the business end of the season. They are just five points above the drop zone so every point counts and with high flying Mousehole AFC to come on Saturday in an away fixture means they are not safe yet with Tavistock having two games in hand.
Rugby Six Nations U20s: England play Italy on Friday night at the Rec having beaten Scotland 57-13 and France 27-10.
