Thu 4 Dec. Museum of Bath at Work. Talk by Bath Railway Society’s Fred Parkinson on Unusual Overseas Rail Journeys. A tour of rail journeys that starts low within the Arctic Circle, moves south to India and Sri Lanka highlands, then on to remote Namibia, and ends at Lhasa, Tibet on a train that offers oxygen supplies to passengers. 7pm. Thu 4 Dec. Burdall’s Yard. The Apex Singers at Christmas. The Apex Singers are an award-winning vocal ensemble renowned for their innovative a cappella performances. Their latest album, Woven, has received widespread acclaim, earning accolades including Best Folk Album and Best Folk Song at the 2025 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards, as well as Best Music Video at the 2025 British Independent Film Festival. It will last for approximately 45 minutes. Tiny Tales is for children aged 2 to 5 years-old. It’s free of charge, but we would appreciate it if you could sign up as we are limiting the experience to 10 children. Children get some healthy snacks and we will have tea or coffee for the accompanying adult.

Wed 10 Dec. Widcombe Wayfarers Walking Wednesdays. Join us for a friendly stroll in our local landscape at 10am. We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, starting at 10am at the west end of Widcombe Parade. Walks last between 1-2 hours and are medium paced. Come dressed for the weather, with suitable footwear and be prepared for a few climbs. Registration not necessary – just turn up!

All of these are open to all young people 11-19 (yr7+ and up to 25 if additional needs). Sun 14 Dec. The Forum. The Towpath Singers & Swingletree Live in Session at the Electric Bar for an afternoon of rousing folk tunes and sea shanties from 2-4pm. With their rotating crew of canal musicians, The Towpath Singers fill every show with warmth, humour, and harmony. Swingletree, the duo behind the group, add squeeze boxes, whistles, spoons, and plenty of laughter. Free but do give them a tip. All ages are welcome.

Sun 21 Dec. Komedia. Tracey Collins in Elvis Lesley’s Jingo Bell Bingo Bash. Local charity SWEDA have organised the event, on Sunday 21st December, with the aim of raising funds to continue supporting people across the South West affected by eating disorders and negative body image. Tracey Collins has been called “the queen of character comedy” as Elvis Lesley on a mission to shake, rattle, and roll her way to the bright lights of bingo stardom.

A beautiful service based around nine Bible readings interspersed with Christmas hymns and carols sung by the Bath Abbey Boys Choir, with the Abbey Lay Clerks. Our Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols services require tickets to attend. Due to demand, we run two of each service, one at 5pm and one at 7.15pm. Tickets are limited to 4 per household.

Sat 6 Dec. Corsham Christmas Lights Switch On. The High Street becomes a Christmas Market, starting at 3pm, and then, from 5pm, there’s great live music on the stage outside the Town Hall, which is where the crowds gather in time for the Switch On itself at 6pm.
7 Nov-23 Dec. Bristol Christmas Market in Broadmead. Craft and gift stalls and entertainment throughout the trading period will include singers, bands, and DJs. Children will enjoy bubble-blowing fairies, balloon artists and Santa.
