Speaking after hearing President Zelensky’s speech in Westminster Hall on 8th February, the MP for Bath, Wera Hobhouse spoke of the need for the UK to continue its unwavering solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
She said: “President Zelensky’s speech captured our hearts. The bravery Ukraine has shown in the face of Russia’s barbaric aggression is astonishing and we must continue to give them our unwavering solidarity.
“My Bath constituents should also feel great pride after hearing that speech today. They have opened up their homes to so many Ukrainian refugees and it makes me extremely grateful knowing that I get the privilege of representing these wonderful people and our great city.
“This address will no doubt reaffirm our commitment to support the people of Ukraine through this most difficult time. As the President said – Freedom will win.”
The embattled president of Ukraine spoke at length in Westminster Hall to a packed audience of politicians and VIPs having been greeted first by the PM Rishi Sunak.
