Bath Voice Theatre News: That perennial of English Lit classes is at the Theatre Royal Bath – of Mice and Men – plus two more classics not to be missed at the Rondo and the Mission for theatre fans

By Harry Mottram: Some great shows are coming to Bath’s theatres this spring. Including one of the classics of American literature is Of Mice and Men – which many a student will have read.

John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men appears at the Theatre Royal Bath from Tuesday 2nd to
Saturday 6th May, in a new staging which opened this spring at Birmingham Rep Theatre. A
story of enduring friendship, this production directed by Birmingham Rep Associate Director,
Iqbal Khan, focuses a 2023 lens on John Steinbeck’s tale of the crumbling American dream.

Meanwhile at the Rondo Theatre William Shakespeare’s history play Julius Caesar runs from Wed 26 – Sat 29 April in production by Bath Drama. It is a story of a dictator who is consumed with power and is overthrown in a bloody coup. Sounds like a story of our times. This production is not all about togas but is given a more contemporary feel.
