Bath City FC enjoyed a stunning finish to the football season Bath City FC known as the Romans clinched victory in the Somerset Premier Cup Final to lift the trophy after a stylish 4-1 win over Paulton Rovers at the Optima Stadium on May 2. Dates of the club’s summer friendly games will be announced soon ahead of the new season.
And in a touching scene the club hosted Zhenya Shkil from Oleksandriya in Ukraine as part of Bath and North East Somerset Council’s partnership programme with that city. Oleksandriya FC play in the top division of Ukrainian football, and are managed by former Dinamo Kyiv, Slavia Prague and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk midfielder Ruslan Rotan, who received 100 caps for Ukraine, and is also the interim national team manager. Our two clubs exchanged gifts during Zhenya’s visits, and they look forward to strengthening ties in the future.
Bath Rugby Women play in the EggChaser Rugby 7s on May 6, at Old Reigatian Rugby Football Club and take on a Swedish side in the competition. Meanwhile on the same day at 4pm at The Rec the men’s team play Saracens in their final fixture of the season.
