Bath Voice News: Royal visit for a Bath youth development charity

Charity News: On Tuesday 16 May, The Princess of Wales (pictured above with Dame Kelly Holmes) visited the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust a youth development charity in Bath to meet the young people that the charity supports.
The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust was set up in 2008 by double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes.
It supports retired athletes as they transition from sport, and uses their skills and experience to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people through mentoring programmes.

Dame Kelly Holmes Trust is a youth development charity founded on the belief that every young person needs a champion. Just one person believing in you can be the difference between fully committing or quitting.

We train up existing and former champions from the world of elite sport to pass on their winning mindset through coaching and mentoring.

From sports star to guide, they help young people who are facing adversity develop the positive behaviours and skills they need to succeed in education, work and life.

Our transformational wellbeing programmes change lives. With a renewed purpose, get up and go attitude and fresh motivation, we’ve seen young people turn their futures around against all odds.
