Bath Voice News: the city’s Tivoli Cinema is acquired by the Everyman Media Group

By Harry Mottram: It’s been billed as the beginning of a ‘beautiful friendship’ – to paraphrase the closing line of the movie Casablanca – the acquisition of Bath’s Tivoli cinema by the Everyman Media Group – along with Cheltenham’s Tivoli cinema. The two cinemas will for the time being keep their Tivoli name in the group that has picture houses up and down the country from Plymouth to Durham and from Glasgow to London.

The group describe their business in a statement on their website: “The Company is a leading independent cinema group in the UK. The Company as at September 2023 operated 41 cinemas, with 141 screens following the opening of new venues in Salisbury, Northallerton and Plymouth. The business model of the Company is to further build its portfolio of venues whilst successfully growing its existing estate by bringing together great food, drink, atmosphere, service and of course film, to create exceptional experiences for its customers.”

The cinema will honour existing tickets bought in advance and Tivoli’s gift vouchers while tickets can be bought as before online. Current films this festive season include Napoleon, Wonka and that perennial favourite: It’s a Wonderful Life.
