From Next Stage Theatre in Bath: Next Stage Youth (NSY) is Bath’s acclaimed youth theatre company, this year celebrating its 30th Birthday. Cultivating talent and encouraging performance skills in 11-18 year olds since 1994, NSY has a strong history, a reputation for fun and friendly sessions and for providing professional grounding for young actors in theatre arts.
With no auditions, Next Stage Youth welcomes children of all acting abilities, offering them opportunities to perform in 1-2 fully-staged productions throughout the year and to compete in the prestigious Mid-Somerset Festival every Spring. The weekly sessions gives NSY members experience in working on devised pieces, theatre games, improvisation, scripts, fight and dance choreography and directing.
Throughout the summer term Next Stage Youth will be working towards staging an all-youth ensemble production of Michael Morpurgo’s Private Peaceful – which will hit the stage at The Mission Theatre from Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th September 2024. If your child would like to get involved in Next Stage Youth and be a part of this fantastic production, join us for a taster session on enrolment day – Sunday 21st April 4:30pm.
Many of the hundreds of young people who have been members of NSY since 1994 have gone on to train and work in theatre, either on stage, backstage or in related areas of the profession. We also offer the opportunity to apply for our Come You Giants Bursary, which for years has helped to financially support various others’ continued studies in performance arts.

Fees are £150 for the 10-session term – there are no extra costs for any additional holiday rehearsals and all new members are invited to come along for 2 taster sessions.
