Bath Voice Sports News: Team Bath Netball beat Cardiff in a NXT Gen League match as the Blue and Golds notch up their biggest win so far – and Daisy comes good in defence against the Dragons

From Team Bath Netball: Team Bath Netball began the second half of the inaugural NXT Gen League season on a winning note as they recorded a 59-44 away victory over Severn rivals Cardiff Dragons on Easter Saturday.

It was an excellent response to the previous week’s defeat at table-topping Loughborough Lightning, with the Blue & Gold quickly settling into their rhythm as they opened up a 16-12 lead after the first quarter.

The gap remained at four goals at half-time but Team Bath then began to pull away, stretching their 29-25 advantage to 45-36 going into the final quarter. There was no let-up in the closing 15 minutes as a dominant Team Bath registered their biggest margin of victory so far this season.

It was also a notable occasion for defender Daisy Harrison, from Exeter, who made a big impact from the bench on her NXT Gen League debut having worked hard on rehab all season after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) last year.

Team Bath will look to build on this result on Friday (25th) when they welcome London Mavericks to Clifton College’s Chellaram Sports Complex for a second home fixture in Bristol. A handful of tickets remain on sale and are available from netball.teambath.com/tickets.

Team Bath Netball are supported by Bath Building Society and Rengen Developments, who are both overall Team Bath Partners, and Bath Recreation Limited. Flyhawk supply Team Bath Netball’s performance clothing and off-court apparel.
