Bath Voice News: The Paddock Circus Festival to Bring Magic, Laughter and Family Fun to Beckford’s Tower

By Gianina Turner: A day of circus magic, laughter and outdoor adventure is set to transform the grounds of Beckford’s Tower this summer as the Paddock Circus Festival arrives in Bath.

Taking place on Sunday 19 July, the festival promises a packed programme of family-friendly entertainment in the beautiful surroundings of the Tower’s Grotto Paddock, with circus performers, interactive theatre, comedy, workshops and plenty of opportunities for visitors to join in the fun.

The festival’s packed programme includes two spectacular 50-minute shows from Circus Pazaz, bringing contemporary circus skills and entertainment to the “Little Big Top”. Visitors can also look forward to two laugh-out-loud performances of Out of the Box by Darryl Carrington, as well as two immersive performances of Stand and Deliver from Cat & Mouse Theatre.

For those inspired to join in, circus skills workshops will be running at 11am, 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

Alongside the entertainment, there will be food vendors, locally made ice cream, refreshments and an all-day bar on site. Visitors are also encouraged to bring picnic blankets and chairs and make a day of it in one of Bath’s most picturesque settings.

As an added bonus, festival tickets include half-price entry (£5) to Beckford’s Tower and Museum on the day, offering visitors the chance to explore the historic landmark while supporting its future.

Importantly, every ticket sold helps support the work of the museum. Proceeds from the festival will be reinvested into the care and preservation of Beckford’s Tower, as well as educational programmes, community projects and inclusive public engagement activities, helping to ensure the site remains a welcoming place for visitors of all ages.
