By Harry Mottram: Strike action for some workers in the NHS has been paused while members of the three main trade unions representing paramedics and nurses consider have received a pay offer from the Government. The Royal College of Nursing, Unison and the GMB back the deal but Unite, which represents ambulance workers have rejected the deal but will allow its members to decide on it.
Meanwhile these are the other groups of workers involved in industrial action in April:
Teachers
The National Education Union (NEU) held a ballot on the latest pay offer and have rejected it with 98% of members in England voting against the deal. Strikes are planned for Thursday 27 April and Tuesday 2 May.
Junior doctors
The dispute over wages between the British Medical Association (BMA) and the Government is unresolved. Strikes are planned from 7am on Tuesday 11 April and run until 7am on Saturday 15 April. Members of the Hospital Consultants and Specialists Association will also join the walk outs.
Passport Office
The Public and Commercial Services union (PCS) have said their members will strike over pay and conditions on Monday 3 April. It will run until Friday 5 May. This will offices in Durham, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Newport, Peterborough and Southport, and in Belfast, where the strike will begin on Friday 7 April.
Heathrow airport
Heathrow security staff represented by the Unite union are currently striking over pay and working conditions and the industrial action will run until Sunday 9 April. The action involves security guards and baggage staff at Terminal 5.
Driving examiners
Driving examiners across the UK and in Bristol represented by the PCS are striking over pay, pensions, jobs and redundancy terms from Thursday 27 and Friday 28 April.
