By Harry Mottram: it has been been billed as the battle of the Roman cities – Bath V Oxford. Both once were important places within the Roman Empire but this week they face each other on the football pitch. Ebsfleet are set for promotion to the fifth tier of the football pyramid while high flying Oxford are likely to finish third in the league with Bath in mid table after a satisfactory season. Bath upset the odds by beating Oxford in front of a sell out crowd.
For fans of the summer game Bath CC take on their local rivals Cheltenham while at the County Ground in Taunton – the female team – Storm are set to sting Sussex outfit Vipers.
Finally Bath’s number one supported club – Bath Rugby finish the season with a clash with Saracens on the Rec – but don’t worry they’ll be back in September with a new campaign – fixtures to be announced soon.
