By Harry Mottram: With the last season just over that included a top four position in the league and a play-off spot the Romans are already eyeing next season as they announce a string of friendlies this summer. The Gaffer Jerry Gill has pledged himself to the club for another 12 months and with an increase in spectator numbers the count down to the new season is under way.
If you need a football fix in the meantime then don’t forget the Euros kick-off in June with England taking on Serbia on Sunday 16th June – with Scotland taking on Germany on the 14th June.
In a statement on the Club’s website Bath City’s spokesman said: “With pre season planning in full swing, we are pleased to confirm three pre season matches with visits to Melksham Town on Tuesday 23 July, newly promoted Frome Town on Tuesday 30 July and Yate Town on Saturday 3 August. Four games have been arranged to be played at Twerton Park and details will be announced shortly.”
The friendlies are all on the road and include Melksham on July 23, Frome on the 30th July and Yate on the 3rd August.
The Club have now added these updates:
We are delighted to announce our home pre-season fixtures for July 2024.
Starting on Tuesday 9 July, we play host to Cheltenham Town with a 7.45pm kick off. Under new management at Whaddon Road, there will be quite a few new players in their ranks, and we have the opportunity to welcome Jordan Thomas back to Bath.
On Saturday 13 July we welcome former player coach Matt Taylor and his Bristol Rovers squad to Twerton Park with a 3pm kick off. The ground holds very happy memories for many Gasheads and we look forward to giving them a warm welcome.
Then on Saturday 27 July, we entertain Bristol City U21’s at 3pm with a chance to view their new emerging talent. Having a close relationship with the club and a series of successful loanees, we can look out for a possible future arrival on loan.
One other home game on Saturday 20 July is currently being finalised and details will follow shortly.
