Bath City FC Foundation are delighted to announce Geoff Stevens as the new CEO. Geoff has been working for the Foundation for 6 years, having previously been Project Manager and later the Operations Manager he now steps into the role of CEO. Geoff’s positions within the Foundation have been possible thanks to funding for his role through St Johns Foundation.
Geoff said “ I am excited and privileged to be appointed the new CEO for the Foundation. Over the past 5 years during my time at the Foundation I have moved from Project Manager to Operations Manager and now CEO. It is an exciting time for the Foundation as we continue to increase the number of projects we deliver and also the number of people we work with.
We have recently received successful funding applications from the National Lottery to support our Inclusion work, as well as our Reconnecting Twerton programme, National League Trust to run a disability specific project and Wesport to work in partnership with Avon & Somerset Police supporting young people in Secondary schools. This funding helps us to sustain and develop our workforce and is a key element of the Foundation having a motivated and highly skilled team of staff.
I am looking forward to the challenge my new role will bring and to be able to work closely with the Football Club as well as other key partners such as Bath Rec, Public Health & BaNES Council, Man v Fat, Bath Mind, Somerset FA and our local schools. These partnerships allow our programmes to flourish and offer the community a wide variety of opportunity to engage in positive activity.”
Geoff previously worked at Bristol City (13 years) Bristol Rovers (1 year) and Weston-Super-Mare AFC (5 years), helping to develop and deliver their community coaching programmes. Having completed a degree in Sports Science at Exeter University, he quickly developed a passion for coaching and helping to support and improve choices and lifestyles through the power of football. This has continued throughout his various roles and he believes that the work we do can make a huge impact on the communities we work in across all ages. Geoff has been a Tutor and Coach Mentor for the FA for 13 years and continues to offer support to a variety of coaches across the South West.
