Dear Editor, A spectacular fireworks display on The Rec in the centre of Bath on Saturday 2 November thrilled thousands of people across the city, including many watching from the city centre and at locations on and around the Bathscape surrounding hills.
The traditional display, organised by The Rotary Club of Bath, receives no public funding and is held to raise money for local charities. The Club says it expects the event to have raised comfortably in excess of £20,000, and well as bringing enjoyment to the thousands who were spectating.
In terms of numbers watching, Fireworks on the Rec is probably the largest single community event in the City, and all proceeds go to good causes.
The display was sponsored by Bath Recreation Ltd with support from M J Church, Bath Rugby, the University of Bath Students Union and Hooke Highways.
Yours
Christopher Davies.
