Football: Bath City FC: With the departure of manager Jerry Gill and goal keeping coach Lee Kendall at the helm while a new coach is recruited the Romans fell to a 1-2 defeat at home to Boreham Wood on Saturday 30th November. Jordan Alves again was the striker on the score sheet for City with a free kick, but the team fell victim to a stoppage time goal giving Boreham Wood three points. The defeat leaves the Romans one place above the drop zone on 19 points just four points above Aveley on 15 points who they face on December 21st. Next up is Welling United away on December 14th who are on 21 points – one of the teams Bath need to overhaul if they are to remain in the National League South.
Football: Bath City Women FC: The team took on the Downend Flyers on Sunday 10th November at home in Twerton when the team won 3-1 with Harris and Brown bagging goals. On Sunday 1st December they took a knock when they lost 0-2 at home against league leaders Gloucester City. They remain in mid table with a game in hand over two of the teams above them.
Football: Larkhall Athletic AFC: An away win over Bideford on Saturday by 1-2 boosted moral with their next challenge being this coming Saturday when they face Helson. They remain in midtable in the league.
Football: Odd Down: They played Bradford Town on Friday 15 November at home losing 0-4 and in a 10 goal thriller lost out to Cadbury Heath by 6-4 away. These are worrying times for the Down with a long losing run – hopefully they can find some form soon when they face Devizes on Saturday 7th December.
Rugby: Bath Rugby Union Club: The Blue, Black and Whites put one over on Exeter at the Rec on Saturday 30th November. This line from the club sums things up: “Tries from Guy Pepper, Miles Reid and Niall Annett sent a sold-out Rec home happy and Bath back to the top of the table late on Saturday night.” Guy Pepper, Miles Reid and Niall Annett scored tries and Finn Russell slotted two conversions. With three yellow cards Bath had their work cut out to achieve a win in a tight game when the Devon outfit closed the gap in the 80th minute to within four points – so relief at the final whistle. On Friday (December 6, kick-off 20:00), Bath host Stade Rochelais in Round 1 of the Investec Champions Cup.
Rugby: Combe Down RFC: On November 30th the team lost out away to Salisbury by 13-5.
Rugby: Walcot RFC: The club have an unusual history with several name changes but began life in 1882 and currently play at the Albert Field Lansdown, Bath. The team won at Dorchester away on the 9th November by 17-34 but narrowly lost out to Devizes on the 16th November by 24-29 at home.

Boules: City of Bath Pétanque Club. The club plays Pétanque and is open to all, with juniors and non-players welcome. If you haven’t played before, give it a go. Bowling: Bath Bowling Club. Based at Pulteney Road the club is open for membership to anyone who wishes to take up the sport, whether you wish to play socially, competitively or both. Cricket: Bath Cricket Club: The club is based at North Parade and was founded in 1859 and has a long and interesting history charted on their website at https://www.bathcricket.com/
There are four main teams – with two elevens of the Bath Wanderers Women sides and an U19’s XI as well. Plus, there are teams for girls from U10s to U15s, and youth cricket for the same ages – to join or for more info visit the website. The men’s first team play in the West of England Premier Cricket League (WEPL), the ECB National Club Championship, the ECB T20 competition and the Somerset Cup.

Cricket: Bear Flat Cricket Club. Established in 1982, the Bears are in Division 1 of the Wiltshire County Cricket League (WCCL) on Saturdays, with a home ground at The Glasshouse Academy, Bradford Road, Combe Down, Bath; there’s also games in Division 7 Blue of the Somerset Monmouth League on Saturdays, home ground the Ken Willcox Ground, Peasedown St John, Bath; and friendlies against clubs based in Somerset/Wiltshire on Sundays; and T20 games against clubs based in Somerset/Wiltshire midweek; plus they participation in the Somerset Knock Out cup.

Cricket: Hampset Cricket Club: based at Bloomfield Rise, Odd Down, Bath, the club was founded in 1940 and features a large number of elevens including the Scholars, development XI, midweek Saturday and Sunday elevens, junior teams from under 9s to u13s and indoor squads. The club are based at the county ground in Taunton although in the past have played some matches at Bath and Weston-super-Mare. Modern Pentathlon: Team GB had an incredible performance at the home World Championships held at the University of Bath, with a seven-strong squad qualifying across the women’s and men’s finals.
