Tue 31 Dec. New Year’s Eve. Abbey Hotel. 8pm. Lets Go Girls for an unforgettable night of glamour and celebration at their exclusive “All That Glitters” New Year’s Eve Gala. As the clock ticks towards midnight, immerse yourself in an evening filled with sparkle and sophistication. This elegant event is specially curated for women in Bath and their guests, promising an enchanting night to ring in the New Year with style. Men are welcome when accompanied by a woman.

Sat 11 Jan. Battle of the Bands. Burdall’s Yard. 7pm. Also on 18 Jan. Are you the next big thing? Westworld Music Festival will be running a Battle of the Bands competition at Burdall’s Yard in January 2025 so that they can see who’s out there and who deserves a chance to be part of this exciting festival.
Sun 16 Jan. Komdedia. Voodoo Room: A Night of Hendrix, Clapton & Cream at Komedia. Paying tribute to these legends of rock are the band Voodoo Room.
Fri 17 Jan. The Forum. Taylormania. Self-declared Swiftie Katy Ellis and her band entertain with a tribute show to the USA pop star.
Sat 18 Jan. Bath Abbey. BACH@Bath275 – Featuring Epiphany and New Year music. A celebration of the 275th anniversary of possibly the greatest composer of all time, Johann Sebastian Bach. 6.30pm.
Sun 19 Jan. Bath City Farm. Wassail. From 11am. Wassail with Kilter Theatre. According to ancient custom, Wassailing fruit trees at this time of year is the only certain way to guarantee good crops in the Autumn.
Wed 22-Sat 25 Jan. Sleeping Beauty. St Philip & St James Church, Odd Down, nightly at 7.30pm but on Saturday there is a matinee at 1pm and an early evening show at 5pm. Family pantomime by St Philip & St James Church Drama Group. All the traditional panto fun plus a few surprises makes for a show not to be missed!
Sat 25 Jan. Meet Helen Godwin at the BRLSI in Queen Square. 11am. Talk by Labour’s candidate who is hoping to be the next Metro Mayor in May’s election.
Thu 30 Jan – Sun 16 Feb. The ReBalance Bath Wellbeing Festival. Experience well-being for yourself with tons of feel-good activities, meditation, and exclusive hotel and spa packages. Many events from yoga, massage, pilates, workshops, talks and winter walks in Alice Park. The festival is designed to promote health and wellbeing to showcase Bath as the number one wellbeing city in the UK. This festival is also designed to support the Bath BID levy payer businesses during the quieter months of January and February by bringing people into the city.
Fri 31 Jan. Trio Paradis play a Café Concert at St Michael’s. January’s concert is a collection of music by South American composers to bring some sun to dark winter days… including dances (Tango, Rumba and more) alongside classical and reflective pieces. Composers include Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, the king of Argentinian Tango, Astor Piazzolla, fellow Argentinian Magdalena Garcia Robson, Cuban brother and sister Ernestina and Ernesto Lecuona, Mexican Manuel Ponce and Carlos Guastavino, ‘the Schubert of the Pampas’. Concerts last 45mins. Refreshments – tea, coffee & cakes – are available in the church café before the concert. 3.30pm on the last Friday of each month: informal music events which are ‘pay-what-you-feel’ via a retiring collection to cover the performers’ costs, to ensure all can attend.

Picks of Diary Events outside Bath

Wed 1 Jan. London New Year’s Parade. The route will move from Piccadilly, through Regent Street and St James’s, along Pall Mall and through Whitehall, ending at Westminster. Along the way, there’ll be Pearly Kings and Queens, street dancers, brass bands, samba bands and trade association floats. From noon. Visit the official website at https://lnydp.com/ for details.
