Veterans, members of the Armed Forces, The Royal British Legion, the Mayor of Bath, council, community and faith leaders, together with members of the public, paid their respects at Remembrance Sunday ceremonies across Bath & North East Somerset. Many are pictured here at the War Memorial in Bath where wreaths were laid. Photos by picture credit Jane Williams of Bath & North East Somerset Council.

The Royal British Legion began after the First World War in 1921 and is a British charity providing financial, social and emotional support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces, their families and dependants, as well as representing them publicly.

The Royal British Legion is behind the annual Poppy Appeal which raises around £50m a year – and since 2023 they introduced the plastic free poppy which can be recycled afterwards.

The armed forces cadets attended the service on Sunday. To find out more or to volunteer with your local cadet unit, contact Wessex Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (Wessex RFCA) at wx-comms@rfca.mod.uk.
