By Claire Harding of the Library & Information Service: Paula writes mysteries set in the Edwardian and late Victorian era which feature women who find themselves solving mysteries, battling crime and fighting criminals or traitors. Paula’s talk addresses the question: ‘Why write about female sleuths in an era when women couldn’t and didn’t do anything?’
The truth is that, regardless of societal expectations and restrictions, women not only did things, but they did great things.
Now at Bath Central Library, come and meet some of the ordinary women, who weren’t afraid to stand up to anyone who said ‘you shouldn’t and you can’t’. Women who faced opposition with intelligence and often humour, and who sometimes solved crime too.
This will be followed by a Q & A and we will be providing free tea/coffee and biscuits.
Tickets are free and can be booked on Eventbrite https://bit.ly/AuthorsInTheLibraryPaulaHarmon , email library_events@bathnes.gov.uk or by speaking to the Bath Central Library team.

Friday 21st November from 2-3pm.
