Bath Voice Theatre News: Nick Winston’s touring musical Bonnie and Clyde featuring Catherine Tyldesley that visited Theatre Royal Bath this month is canned after poor ticket sales

By Harry Mottram: Whether it was the subject matter of murderous US criminals, the Cost of Living Crisis or a musical drama that didn’t catch the public’s imagination Production company ADAMA group have canned Bonnie and Clyde The Musical with immediate effect.

The big budget show starring Catherine Tyldesley is outstanding as Blanche, Katie Tonkinson as Bonnie Parker and  Alex James-Hatton as Clyde Barrow was staged in Bath in the first week of May as part of a nation wide tour. With dates from early this year to October when the run was to end at the Royal and Dernham Theatre in Northampton it appears there was not enough public interest in the story of the gun toting gangsters.

The show’s producers posted this statement on social media: “Bonnie and Clyde the Musical will conclude its UK and Ireland tour with immediate effect. We would like to thank the extremely hard working and endlessly talented cast and company that have entertained thousands of audience members across the country with this production.”

With a short USA run in 2009 of just four weeks the show has had two West End runs to ensure its box office appeal in 2022 and 2023 but for some reason Bonnie and Clyde The Musical like its characters came to a sudden end.
