Bath Voice Sports News: Blue Black and Whites prepare for Saturday’s semi final play-off

By Harry Mottram: Bath go into the Gallagher Prem semi final play-offs as slight favourites against Exeter Chiefs on Saturday although in their last fixture this season it was the Devon side who came away with a win. Exeter secured their place after beating Saracens by 32-12 and sit just four points behind Bath in the final league table. Bath have home advantage after beating Leicester 24-22 to secure their spot. The Blue Black and Whites are five points behind Saints and will look at their recent past against Exeter with the balance of 4-1 in Bath’s favour.

Bath’s director of rugby Johann Van Graan told the BBC: “That is down to the squad and the training. This game is about players performing, day in, day out. You might win one game, or a few, but we have consistently performed in games, and picked up bonus points in defeats. We never reacted to the highs or the lows, and we have never stopped trying to improve – that is exactly what I wanted when I came in four years ago. We have a group that continually wants to get better and that is what pleases me the most.”

On Friday night Saints play Tigers in the other semi-final.

Last season Bath beat Leicester Tigers at the Allianz Stadium to become champions and will be aiming to win back-to-back victories.

The Blue, Black and Whites will host Exeter Chiefs on Saturday 13 June (kick-off 15:00) at The Rec.
